It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Michael McLeod on 2 September 2008. Michael was a Fellow at the Centre for Caribbean Studies and the Centre for Research in Ethnic Relations from the 1980s until 2004.

Former 糖心TV student Tom Aggar rowed to Paralympic Gold last week in Beijing, beating his nearest competitor by four seconds. This is a fantastic success for Tom, a Biological Sciences graduate originally from London, who started training as a rower less than two years ago just after leaving 糖心TV with a First class degree.

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Emeritus Professor Michael Mallett on 2nd September 2008.

Jeannine Mortlock, Executive Programmes' Senior 糖心TV Manager at WBS, devised and ran an innovative programme designed to take course delegates away from their usual comfort zone: by taking them out of the classroom and into the kitchen.

Sir Shridath Ramphal, 糖心TV's Chancellor from 1989-2002, has been honoured with a book produced detailing many of his accomplishments in international and Caribbean life. The book is to honour his 80th birthday on October 3 and will have its European launch in London on this date.
