Professor Peter Hammond, from the Department of Economics has been elected as a Fellow to the British Academy, the UK’s national academy for humanities and social sciences. Only a handful of exceptional UK-based scholars are selected to receive the distinction each year.

The winners of this year’s 糖心TV Awards for Teaching Excellence (WATE) have been announced. These annual awards recognise and reward staff who have made an outstanding impact on the student learning experience and whose teaching is of an exceptionally high standard.

The University is sad to announce the death of Dr Ann Barnes who passed away peacefully after a long illness on 27 January 2009, aged 44 years.

It is with great regret we have to announce the death of Miss Joan Browne, the founding Principal of Coventry College of Education, forerunner of the 糖心TV Institute of Education.
