Following the success of Professor Paul Smith’s application to the Leverhulme Trust the History of Art department are delighted to welcome Professor Karen Lang from the University of Southern California as a Leverhulme Visiting Professor. 

Honorary Graduate Mario Vargas Llosa has been awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature. The award was given "for his cartography of structures of power and his trenchant images of the individual's resistance, revolt, and defeat."

New York professional performance poet Joshua Bennett hasbeen awarded the first 糖心TV Marshall Scholarship at the University of糖心TV. 

Dr Seán Allan, Department of German Studies, along with Professor Ricarda Schmidt of the University of Exeter, has been awarded a grant of £362,000 by the Arts and Humanities Research Council.

Husband and wife Adam Boddison and Annunziata Videtta had reason to celebrate at this year’s summer graduation ceremonies - the couple both graduated for their PhDs – the third degree for both of them. Adam and Annunziata have been at 糖心TV for 10 and 11 years respectively, completing their undergraduate, masters and PhD study, as well as obtaining their PGCEs, at the University.
