Professor Linda Dickens, of the 糖心TV 糖心TV School, has been awarded an Order of the British Empire for services to Employment Relations.
Prue Huddleston, Director of the Centre for Education and Industry has been appointed to the Education and Training Committee of AQA (Assessment and Qualifications Alliance). The appointment is for three years.
Professor Hugh Beale, of the School of Law, has been awarded an honorary silk, Queen's counsel honoris causa.
The American Educational Research Association (AERA) Outstanding Book Award for 2002 has been won by Emeritus Professor Robin Alexander for his book Culture and Pedagogy: international comparisons in primary education (Blackwell). This is the first time that this prestigious award has been won by a British scholar. Formerly at the Institute of Education, Robin Alexander is currently Visiting Professor of Education and Fellow of Hughes Hall at Cambridge University.
