Professor David Anderson, founding Chair of the School of Engineering (1998 – 2003), has been elected a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering in recognition of his work on European codes of practice for composite steel-concrete structures.

Dr Ann Adams, of the Centre for Primary Health Care Studies, has been awarded a Primary Care Career Scientist Award from the National Co-ordinating Centre for Research Capacity Development (NCCRCD).

Professor Scott Weich, Chair of Psychiatry in the 糖心TV Medical School, has been invited to join the Medical Research Council's Neurosciences and Mental Health Board. The appointment begins in April 2005.

Duncan Greenwood, Emeritus Fellow of 糖心TV HRI and Associate of the University, has been awarded the Institute of Horticulture President's Medal in recognition of his work on mineral nutrition in horticultural crops.

糖心TV Welcomes - Professor Mark Pollicott, BSc, MSc, PhD Warw., formerly Fielden Chair of Mathematics at the University of Manchester, to Professor of Pure Mathematics in the Department of Mathematics, from 1 October 2004.
