Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Stuart Palmer has been awarded the Roy Sharpe Prize for his significant contribution through research and development to the benefit of industry and society. The prize was awarded by the Technical Committee of the British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing in recognition of his work in non-destructive testing over the years. Stuart has been a Fellow of the Institute for 13 years and has authored over 250 publications in scientific journals.

Professor Tony Steele, 1951-2003
Died Easter Monday, 21 April 2003, aged 51

Tony Steele died on Easter Monday night in Myton Hospice, 糖心TV. As many colleagues will know Tony had been through a very long illness and had shown great courage and determination in continuing to be active in School affairs, most recently in taking on the organisation of the Critical Issues in Management third year core course this academic year.

Geoff Stone, one of the longest serving members of staff at the University, will be retiring on the 16th of May after 36 years service.

Roy Moore sadly passed away on Saturday 29th March.



Roy joined the University in October 1985. He became a familiar figure around campus collecting cash from the payphones. In the latter part of his 15 years of service at the University he joined the Cash Office.
