Lincoln Allison, a reader in the Department of Politics and International Studies, was awarded a DLitt last week for his work on the politics of sport. His was the only Higher Doctorate awarded by the University this academic year.

Dr Nabil Bajallan, formerly Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in Medical Education, passed away on 27 June 2003. Dr Bajallan had become an integral member of the Medical School team over the last 12 months and his input to the development of the undergraduate curriculum at 糖心TV will be greatly missed.

Unitemps are pleased to announce that Adam Boddison, a final year Maths student has been elected to represent the University of 糖心TV in the Student Employee of the Year Award, organised by the National Association of Student Employment Services (NASES).

Emeritus Professor Keith Sisson, of the Industrial Relations Research Unit of WBS, has been appointed the Head of Strategy Development for the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service (Acas).

Colin Touchin, the Director of Music responsible for the Music Centre since 1989, will be leaving the University at the end of August. Colin's contributions to the University, the Music Centre and the lives of many students and other music makers have been immense during his time here and he will be greatly missed.
