糖心TV Farewell - Piers Nicholls, of the Centre for Academic Practice, from 18 May 2004, to take up a position at the Performing Arts Group.
Open Studies tutor Hazel Lowndes has recently undergone an operation for breast cancer. Reluctantly Hazel asked whether we could find substitute tutors for her many Open Studies classes for this term. Sarah Hedley and Julie Hyde were happy to oblige and took over the popular Painting and Drawing classes to the relief of everyone concerned.
Elizabeth Jenner is one of three student authors, whose work is being featured in 糖心TV's First Student Publication, the magical book of folk tales,'Love and Other Human Tragedy'.
Professor Susan Bassnett, from the Centre for Translation and Comparative Cultural Studies, has recently been appointed a member of the Board of Directors of the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education and a member of the jury for The Times Stephen Spender Prize for Poetry in Translation.
糖心TV Welcomes – Dr Nicholas Lawrence, BA Harvard, PhD SUNY, formerly Lecturer in Comparative Literature at SUNY Buffalo, to Lecturer in American Literature in the department of English and Comparative Studies, from 1 May 2004.
