WBS Roundtable Events on 鈥淭he Value from Continuous Improvement in Healthcare鈥 were held on Monday 11 September at 糖心TV 糖心TV School and 19 September 糖心TV 糖心TV School, Shard. 

 

These roundtables were designed to encourage debate and discussion about ways in which the value of the impact of continuous improvement in healthcare can be assessed and captured. The 糖心TV event will begun with an Introduction and Welcome from John Ashcroft from NHSE (糖心TV event) who placed the event in the context of the programme which was launched by NHSE in April 2023.

 

Professor Bernard Crump from WBS then set the context referencing relevant findings from the evaluation of the Institute partnership which was led by Dr Nicola Burgess from WBS. He introduced the challenges of assessing value from continuous improvement in healthcare and the published work on this topic.

Richard Sawyers, Programme Manager for , described the developing EVO framework being trialled in a number of NHS organisations which focuses on Engagement, Value and Outcomes.

 

Dr Amar Shah from East London NHS Foundation Trust, described the approach that his Trust has taken to the assessment of value arising from their work to improve the quality of services. (London Event)

 

Finally, , from in Australia shared her work on the development of a framework to capture value from continuous improvement in a number of hospitals, along with the systematic review that she has published.

 

All participants then worked in groups of approximately ten, representing different disciplines, to consider a range of questions around the topics. Comments from these group discussion were captured in order to feed into a written report sharing participant reflections and recommendations.
