Fees & living costs

Current fee information is available on the Finance Office website. Fees can either be paid in full, at the beginning of the academic year, or in instalments throughout the year.

Funding

While most of our Masters students are self-funded, there are several funding opportunities available for 2026 entry. As further opportunities come to our attention - particularly during the autumn term - they will be posted here, so check back often. You should also check out the funding opportunity listings hosted by the Graduate School and International Office linked in the table.

These scholarships are intended for students from developing countries who would not otherwise be able to afford to undertake Master鈥檚 level study in the UK, to gain skills and knowledge which will allow them to contribute to the development of their home countries.

Sociology Departmental Scholarship

拢5,000 for full-time applicants and 拢2,500 over 2 years for part-time applicants
10 awards available: 5 for Home and EU candidates, 5 for Overseas candidates

Any offer holder on a taught Masters programme in Sociology entering in 2026. 15th July 2026

10% tuition fee discount for graduates of 糖心TV

No separate application;

Any 糖心TV Alumni applying for 2026 entry to a taught Masters programme in Sociology who have obtained at least a 2:1 Submit your MA application by 1st July 2026.
The maintains a listing of opportunities currently available to incoming students, including UK student loans. They also provide advice for what to do if you cannot secure funding.
