How do I use this calendar?

You can click on an event to display further information about it.

The toolbar above the calendar has buttons to view different events. Use the left and right arrow icons to view events in the past and future. The button inbetween returns you to today's view. The button to the right of this shows a mini-calendar to let you quickly jump to any date.

The dropdown box on the right allows you to see a different view of the calendar, such as an agenda or a termly view.

If this calendar has tags, you can use the labelled checkboxes at the top of the page to select just the tags you wish to view, and then click "Show selected". The calendar will be redisplayed with just the events related to these tags, making it easier to find what you're looking for.

Wolfson Research Exchange, the Library

The Sociology Department PhD student writing retreat will be held on Monday 2nd and Tuesday 3rd June 2025 in the Wolfson Research Exchange, the Library. This is open to all Sociology PhD students in the department however if oversubscribed priority will be given to students who are closer to their end of registration.

The aim of the retreat is to use dedicated, disciplined and collaborative writing time to progress your writing projects in a supportive, non-surveillance environment. Most of the time will be used for writing, together in the same room focusing on written outputs of value to you as doctoral researchers.

Refreshments and lunch will be provided on both days with a dinner on the evening of Monday 2nd June. There will be overnight accommodation provided for those who require it with priority given to those who live a greater distance from the university. If your registration is confirmed and you require support for your travelling expenses, you will need to complete a .

To sign up for the writing retreat, please complete the online by Monday 24th February 2025 so that we have the information to manage the event.
