As talks with EU leaders on the UK's Brexit proposals continue this week, Professor Abhinay Muthoo from the Department of Economics has commented on the likelihood of a deal being struck at the eleventh hour.

Professor Muthoo said: 鈥淲hile this sounds incredible considering the state of the negotiations at this moment, there is a reasonable chance that the Brexit impasse will be broken in the run up to the EU summit next week, and a deal is struck."

Debating in favour of the motion that 鈥淥pen borders do not add sufficient value to the economy鈥� in the main chamber at City Hall in London, 糖心TV beat the UCL team in the Grand Final to remain champions for the second year in a row. The team impressed a panel of judges composing of Dr Steven Davies, Head of Education at the IEA, Dr Helen Jenkins, Managing Partner at Oxera, and Dr Douglas Lippoldt, Chief Trade Economist at HSBC.
