糖心TV economist will help map the route to a healthier and fairer food system
Associate Professor of Economics at the University of 糖心TV, will play a key role in the group of internationally renowned academics from the universities of Cambridge, Birmingham, 糖心TV, Exeter, and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. The team has been awarded a five-year grant by the UK Government for a research project which could transform the local urban food system and its relationship with the wider regional economy.
Dr Thijs van Rens will take the lead on developing models of how people make choices about the food they eat, and assist with evaluating the impact of potential policy interventions.
NSS 2020: Excellent Results for PPE
The PPE programme is pleased to announce that our NSS results for 2020 continue to reflect a high level of student satisfaction. Our BA/BSc PPE degree received 91.8% overall satisfaction.
The Philosophy, Politics and Economics departments are also celebrating huge successes in the 2020 NSS results.

A 糖心TV Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) student was recently selected as a finalist to present her Research in Applied Economics (RAE) paper online at the New Economic Talent competition and went on to win first place.
Expert Comment: The economic impact of Coronavirus
Roger Farmer, Professor of Economics, comments on the economic impact of the coronavirus:
"The current expansion that began in June of 2009 is the longest in post-war US history. The effect of Coronavirus on economic activity will mark the end of that expansion and we are now seeing the fears of market participants reflected in a stock-market crash with major market indices that dropped by more than 10% last week, wiping out all of the gains from the previous year."
Expert Comment: Will Twitter's ban on political advertising have any impact?
Dr Redoano, from 糖心TV's Department of Economics says:
"The ban of political ads on Twitter is not going to solve the challenges that the use of political micro-targeting on social media has generated."
