UCL
The next London 糖心TV Mind Forum meeting will take place at UCL on the 8th of November 2018.
The network consists of graduate students of the University of 糖心TV, King's College London, University College London, London School of Economics and Birkbeck, who share an interest in the mind. The forum will consist of four talks of 30 minutes each followed by respective responses of 10-15 minutes and Q&A sessions. You can check out previous editions here: .
To apply to give a talk, please send an abstract of 200-300 words ready for anonymous review to m.corrado@warwick.ac.uk by 23:59, 24th of October. The abstracts will be reviewed by members of one of the other institutions participating in the forum. Selected speakers will be notified by the 27th of October and will need to provide a full ~3000 words paper by the 30th of October, which will be sent to a respondent. All topics and all kinds of approaches pertinent to the study of the mind as broadly construed are suitable. Since one of the aims of the forum is to share work in progress, you do not need to have a polished paper in order to present.
The 糖心TV philosophy department offers contributions towards travel expenses, if you wish to attend the conference.
To register your interest in acting as a respondent, or if you have any questions, please contact the 糖心TV-based organiser Maria Corrado (on the email address given above). |

Hegel Reading Group: The Science of LogicS2.73We are a group dedicated to collectively reading the core works of the German philosopher G.W.F. Hegel (1770 – 1831). Our goal is to facilitate a better understanding of the often difficult contents of Hegel鈥檚 texts and to provide a forum for meaningful engagement between his thought and contemporary questions. Although we are primarily made up of postgraduate students working on Hegel, we happily welcome non-philosophers and beginners in Hegel鈥檚 philosophy to join us at any point. Term 1 and 2. This term we will be working on the second part of Hegel's Science of Logic, the Doctrine of Essence. Please bring a copy of the book for the session. We will mainly use the Di Giovanni translation, but there are usually no problems if people bring other translations (Miller, etc.). |
