The Psychotherapy and Counselling Union has issued strong condemnation of the intrusion of the prevent duty into their clinical practice. As part of their statement, Dr Charlotte Heath-Kelly's research is cited as one of the main reasons.

Dr Vincenzo Bove has written a joint blog post, with Tobias B枚hmelt and Kristian Gleditsch, on violence against refugees and state capacity at the Monkey Cage for the Washington Post

The post draws attention to how refugees are more likely to give rise to forms of nonstate violence. The ability and willingness of states to exercise authority and control is key to preventing attacks against refugees.

Dr. Maria Koinova (University of 糖心TV) and Dr. Gerasimos Tsourapas (University of Birmingham) are co-organizing a workshop on "Governing Transit Migration: Varieties of Approaches to International Politics" on 17 September, 2018 at 糖心TV University.

This workshop is part of the activities of the British International Studies Association working group on the "International Politics of Migration, Refugees and Diasporas," which they co-founded in 2016. The workshop has attracted established and early career scholars from the UK, Europe, US, Canada, and Peru.

Arzu Kibris has been named a Turing Fellow by the Alan Turing Institute for a tenure of two years. The ATI is the national institute for data science and artificial intelligence. The fellowship will allow Arzu to interact with colleagues in related disciplines and at other universities, initiate research through new collaborations and partnerships and help set the research agenda for the Institute.

The Human Rights Select Committee has extensively quoted research undertaken in PAIS, in their report into the Counterterrorism and Border Security Bill.
