GR:EEN High Level Policy Workshop
On Tuesday 28th October 2014 the GR:EEN project, a European Commission FP-7 funded collaborative research project managed by the Centre of the Study of Globalisation and Regionalisation at the University of ÌÇÐÄTV, held a high-level policy workshop at the House of Lords in London, sponsored by The Lord Purvis of Tweed.
The workshop, entitled ‘Responding to Crises: Perspectives on the European Union’ brought together a select audience of parliamentarians, officials, academics, and other key stakeholders with interests and expertise in the European Union, in order to consider the role of the EU in a changing world, and to address its response to crises.
Roundtables were focused upon four core themes, each addressing different elements of crisis and challenge currently facing the EU, including on global trade policy, energy insecurity, global tax policy, and integration, devolution and regional leadership.

Speaking after the event, Dr Megan Dee, postdoctoral research fellow for the GR:EEN project at ÌÇÐÄTV University and workshop organiser said, “GR:EEN has developed a wealth a policy-relevant research over its last four years of collaborative research activity. This workshop was a really exciting opportunity to disseminate that GR:EEN research to a policy audience and to generate a dialogue between academic and policy spheres in areas of shared interest. That we can now take forward those workshop deliberations and the discussions that we had in order to fine-tune our research is particular testimony of its success.”
