How do I use this calendar?

You can click on an event to display further information about it.

The toolbar above the calendar has buttons to view different events. Use the left and right arrow icons to view events in the past and future. The button inbetween returns you to today's view. The button to the right of this shows a mini-calendar to let you quickly jump to any date.

The dropdown box on the right allows you to see a different view of the calendar, such as an agenda or a termly view.

If this calendar has tags, you can use the labelled checkboxes at the top of the page to select just the tags you wish to view, and then click "Show selected". The calendar will be redisplayed with just the events related to these tags, making it easier to find what you're looking for.

PAIS Film Club & East Asia Study Group: Vibrant Highland, Commercial Love (Love Market)
L5

The PAIS Film Club is delighted to work with the East Asia Study Group to bring you 'Vibrant Highland, Commercial Love (Love Market)', which we are screening on Tuesday 29th November at 7pm in L5.

'Vibrant Highland, Commercial Love (Love Market)' won the best documentary feature award at the 2015 world's independent film festival. "It’s a story of wild & exotic love. It’s a story of tribal kings and opium trade. It’s a story of kidnapping and loss. It’s a story of sexual discovery, of spirits and magic. It’s a story of government propaganda vs. the fascinating yet harrowing reality of the people.”

Far up in Vietnam’s remote mountains, once a year, a secretive Love Market is held. Delving beyond the ambiguous myths, this unique, independently produced adventure documentary discovers a reality much more fascinating, even if painful, than the legends told.

After the screening there will be a discussion of the film with Seb Rumsby.

Entry is free, and of course all students and staff are welcome!
