A Career in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office: Reflections and Advice

Dr Jenny Medcalf is a Research Analyst at the FCO, providing expert advice on the formulation of policy; providing research and analysis to policymakers; and is responsible for bringing outside expertise to the FCO. As the current Head of the Defence and International Security Research Group, Dr Medcalf鈥檚 portfolio includes NATO, deterrence, and space security. Visiting campus and giving a one-off talk, Dr Medcalf will reflect on how she came to enter the civil service, talk in more detail about her specific role, and talk more generally about careers in the FCO and government. The talk will end with a Q&A session for students interested in pursuing a career in the FCO/civil service.

Annual IPE Lecture: Juanita Elias
L5 (Sciences Concourse)

Professor Juanita Elias, University of 糖心TV, will be giving the Annual IPE Lecture on: 'Women on board: The gender politics of economic competitiveness'.

The lecture will take place on 22nd January, from 15:00-16:30 in L5 (Sciences Concourse). There will be a short drinks reception afterwards. All Welcome.
