How do I use this calendar?

You can click on an event to display further information about it.

The toolbar above the calendar has buttons to view different events. Use the left and right arrow icons to view events in the past and future. The button inbetween returns you to today's view. The button to the right of this shows a mini-calendar to let you quickly jump to any date.

The dropdown box on the right allows you to see a different view of the calendar, such as an agenda or a termly view.

If this calendar has tags, you can use the labelled checkboxes at the top of the page to select just the tags you wish to view, and then click "Show selected". The calendar will be redisplayed with just the events related to these tags, making it easier to find what you're looking for.

REF: What Is It? And How Might It Affect You?
OC1.07

Matthew Watson addresses these questions at a special CRIPS session

Monday, 19th February, 4.30-6pm, OC1.07

HEFCE is finally releasing into the sector the information about how REF2021 will work. This follows an extensive review process by the Stern Committee and lengthy subsequent consultation with the sector. A lot of the recommendations by Stern seemed to have direct implications for early career scholars at the PhD level, the vast majority of which were assumed to be adverse. Uncertainty abounded and, as a consequence, it increased the sense of PhD students not really knowing where they stood in relation to REF. The sector now has more information and, with luck, more clarity about exactly what the new REF structure will mean to people who are new to academia. Matthew Watson is the PAIS REF lead and REF strategist. He has agreed to come to CRIPS to share all that he knows about the incoming REF structure and to tailor his talk directly to the needs of Departmental PhD students who are considering careers in academia. If you are interested in learning about how REF might affect you, or merely about what REF is and how it works, this might very well be the session for you. Plenty of time will be set aside for Q&A.
