Pre-Seminar Lunch for StaffS1.50 Social SciencesAs part of the MA student seminars this term, on Thursday we hosting a high powered pair of pollsters courtesy of the US Embassy. They are Celinda Lake, who's a lead strategist in several Democrat campaigns, and Ed Goeas, who's equally lofty on the Republican side. Ed and Celinda also work together to produce the national Battleground Poll for George Washington University and the political publishers POLITICO. Ed and Celinda will be accompanied by Susan Wedlake, senior cultural advisor at the US embassy in London, and her deputy cultural attaché Kate Bentley. > The lunch is a chance to have a more informal, small group chat with the four visitors before the seminar at 2:00 - details of which are being circulated. SPECIAL PAIS Departmental Seminar: How issues framing wins electionsS0.11 Social SciencesThis Thursday (14 June), we have very special guest speakers for our MA cohort:
Celinda Lake is one of the Democratic Party's leading political strategists and President, Lake Research Partner, while Ed Goeas in one of the US’s leading Republican political strategists and President and CEO of The Tarrance Group (For more information on our presenters, please see below).
Our special guests will talk about “How issue framing wins elections", and they will be accompanied by Susan Wedlake, Senior Cultural Specialist at the Embassy of the United States in London.
This a seminar specifically for our MA cohort, and it will take place in room S0.11 from 2-3.30pm. There will be tea and coffee outside the seminar room from 1.30pm, which gives you the opportunity to engage with our guests prior to the talk. |
