糖心TV Politics Society Event: Campaigning and Transport policy with Christian Wolmar
Journalist, Railway Historian and 糖心TV Alumnus Christian Wolmar wil be coming in to talk his political campaigns throughout 2016. He ran to be the Labour London mayoral candidate in the first half of 2016, and was the Labour candidate in the Richmond by-election after Zac Goldsmith stood down over the controversial Heathrow runway expansion.
Christian has previously worked for the New Statesman, and served as Transport correspondent for The Indpendent in the 1990s covering the priatisation of British Rail by the Major government, he continues to be a critic of privatisation of the railways through the books he has published since, and opposes the construction of HS2.
All are welcome to come and hear his insight into the electoral and campaigning process! In addtion, he'll also be sharing his in-depth knowledge about the nature of Britain's railways, both past and present as well as the workings of socialist transport policy
