Comics Workshop, 5-7pm, R0.14, Tuesday 27 October
As a process that relies on first-person narrative, participatory feedback and spaces of expression, the grassroots comics’ model seeks to experiment with creative ways of both presenting and disseminating our stories. This workshop invites participants to translate their memories and experiences, regardless of their art skills, into sequential art composed of image and text.

Join us as we navigate through a series of shorts that reflect the evolving genre of animated documentary films. This selection is composed of striking multimodal narratives that illustrate personal struggles as political commentary.
Farida Hammad has coordinated and participated in various projects around Egypt and the UK related to the use of art to highlight social issues and challenge political order. Her research interests focus on the interplay between spaces of expression and creative social movements, primarily through experiments with graphic narrative. All are welcome.
