Executive Director and Head of Research, Director, Centre of Economics and Law Studies (CELIOS), Indonesia

Executive Director and Head of Research at the Centre of Economics and Law Studies. He is an expert on sustainable finance and transition minerals governance in Indonesia. He has a bachelor degree from the Faculty of Economics and ÌÇÐÄTV, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia and a Masters in Finance from the University of Bradford, UK. He has experience in economic research activities at institutions such as the International Finance Corporation (IFC World Bank), Kadin, Fair Labor Association-US, and Friedrich Ebert Stiftung. Throughout his career, Bhima has conducted extensive analyses related to macroeconomics, energy transition, and critical minerals.

Co-Programme Director, Institute for Economic Justice, South Africa

Basani Baloyi is a Co-Programme Director at the Institute for Economic Justice. She is a feminist, development economist and activist her current work includes a project on Alternatives to South Africa JET-IP. She holds a PhD in Economics from SOAS, UK and an MA in Public Policy and MCom in Economics from Wits University, South Africa. She has extensive policy and research experience in academia and the civil service in South Africa, including as Director of Industrial Policy and Acting Chief Director in the Industrial Procurement Unit at the Department of Trade and Industry.

Ms Chee Yoke Ling

Director, Third World Network, Malaysia

Chee Yoke Ling is Director of Third World Network and works on sustainable development issues, with a focus on social justice and equity issues and the effects of globalization on developing countries. A lawyer by training, her work has focused on public health, including access to affordable medicines, agroecology and farmers’ rights, the impact of trade agreements on sustainable development and human rights, and developments on these issues at key United Nations bodies and treaties. She is a member of the Reflection Group on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and is also on the Dag Hammarskjold Foundation board of trustees.

Associate Research Professor, Law and Development Research Group, Faculty of Law, University of Antwerp, Belgium

Gamze Erdem Türkelli is an Associate Research Professor at the Law and Development Research Group, Faculty of Law, University of Antwerp. Her work is situated in the interface of international law, human rights law and sustainable development. She conducts research into transnational human rights obligations, hybrid public-private actors in international law such as multistakeholder partnerships, 'innovative' development financing, business and human rights, children's rights as well as accountability and responsibility. She is the Principal Investigator of the European Research Council Starting Grant 2023 funded GENESIS Project.

Reader in Development, Justice and Inequality (Anthropology), School of Global Studies, University of Sussex, UK

Paul Gilbert’ is Reader in Development, Justice and Inequality (Anthropology) at the School of Global Studies, University of Sussex. Paul’s teaching and research are concerned with understanding how economic and financial ideas and practices produce inequalities, and how marginalised bodies of knowledge can inform the pursuit of greater economic justice. His expertise includes political risk insurance, international investment law, and extractive industry projects, such as critical minerals. His current research, Contractors and Consultants in Global Development, focuses on for-profit development actors, and their role in shaping implementation of and knowledge about UK-funded development.

Mr Goh Chien Yen

Legal Advisor and Researcher, Third World Network, Malaysia and Singapore

Goh Chien Yen is a Legal Advisor and Researcher with Third World Network. He holds an LLB from the University of Nottingham and an LLM from the National University of Singapore. Chien Yen's work involves advocating for the interests of developing countries in global governance and addressing issues related to international trade, development, and human rights.

Ms Hilary Kung

Senior Researcher, Third World Network, Malaysia

Hilary Kung is Senior Researcher at Third World Network (TWN) . She is trained as a political ecologist, and her work focuses on the UNFCCC processes and negotiations, with policy research interest in national and global climate policy analysis from a political ecology and climate justice perspective, forests, community rights and finance issues.

Ms Moliehi Mafantiri

Junior Researcher, Institute for Economic Justice, South Africa

Moliehi Mafantiri is Junior Researcher: Climate Finance at the Institute for Economic Justice, South Africa. She works on climate finance and just energy transitions, advocating for alternative financing frameworks in the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) and promoting worker-centric, developmental climate finance policies, particularly in South Africa. Before joining IEJ, she was a development consultant focusing on civil society engagement related climate change and gender mainstreaming in Lesotho.

Dr John Hogan Morris

Assistant Professor in Economic Geography, School of Geography, University of Nottingham

John Hogan Morris is a financial geographer with research and teaching interests in central banking, financial risk management, green finance, climate change and just energy transitions. Dr Morris’ research investigates how risk is constituted through discursive and calculative practices by experts in public and private institutions and how such renderings of risk emanate outwards to shape and remake the geographies of the global financial system. His latest co-authored book, (Mis)managing Macroprudential Expectations: How Central Banks Govern Financial and Climate Tail Risks explores the Bank of England's attempts to calculate tail risks to financial stability using a range of calculative devices.

Ms Anisa Indah Pratiwi

Policy Analyst, Just Transition Lab, Grantham Institute for Climate Change and the Environment, London School of Economics (LSE), UK

Anisa Indah Pratiwi is a Policy Analyst at the Just Transition Finance Lab, LSE Grantham Institute for Climate Change and the Environment. Prior to joining the institute, Anisa had over seven years of experience in the public policy sector. She has worked with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Indonesia, where she coordinated the establishment of Integrated National Financing Framework (INFF) and aided the Ministry of National Development Planning during the Indonesia G20 Presidency. Her portfolio covers Sustainable Finance, Green Economy, and Impact Measurement and Management. Anisa holds a Bachelors Degree in International Relations from Universitas Padjadjaran and a Masters in Public Policy from University College London.

Ms Meena Raman

President, Friends of the Earth Malaysia and Head of Programmes of Third World Network, Malaysia

Meena Raman is President of Friends of the Earth Malaysia and Head of Programmes of Third World Network. She is also Legal Advisor to the Consumers’ Association of Penang in Malaysia. Meena has practised public interest law for over 25 years, representing grassroots communities taking on big corporations in Malaysia. She was a co-founder of Environmental Lawyers Alliance Worldwide (ELAW) and Chair of Friends of the Earth International, which has 72 member groups around the world. Meena served as an 'Active Observer' of the Green Climate Fund from 2012 to 2015, and has actively participated in the UNFCCC negotiations since 2007.

Dr Amiera Sawas

Head, Research and Policy at Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty Initiative, UK

Amiera Sawas is Head of Research and Policy at the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty (FFNPT) Initiative. After gaining her PhD in water, climate and human rights in Pakistan, she went on to work for Climate Outreach, ActionAid and the Grantham Institute for Climate Change at Imperial College. She is also a contributing author to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Sixth Assessment report on gender and climate security.

Dr Farwa Sial

Farwa Sial is Asia Regional Director, Research and Policy at IDEAs and Research Associate with the Department of Economics at SOAS University of London. She is a political economist with expertise in development and climate finance, climate policy, industrial policy, and private sector accumulation in the global south. Her research interests lie in integrating academic research into activism and policy making on a national and multilateral level. She is a management committee member of the Association of Heterodox Economics and Diversifying and Decolonising Economics. She has 10 years of academic research, teaching, and policy experience in various multilateral forums.

Ms Joan Stott

Joan Stott is Senior Programme Officer: Climate Finance and Resource Mobilisation at the Institute for Economic Justice. Joan has over 20 years’ experience in public finance management, policy development, institutional capacity-building and advancing socioeconomic and fiscal justice. She has experience working on fiscal policy, social dialogue, economic policy, gender and financial inclusion, public finance management policy, analysis and reform, as well as human rights and development issues. Joan has contributed to a range of sectors in both government and private organisations, as well as multilateral development institutions. Her career spans work on a variety of policy and development projects in South Africa and other African nations.

Professor Celine Tan

Celine Tan is Professor of International Economic Law at ÌÇÐÄTV Law School, University of ÌÇÐÄTV. She is also the Co-Director of the GLOBE Centre based at ÌÇÐÄTV Law School. She is currently leading a project on Climate Finance for Equitable Transitions (CLiFT), a multi-institutional and multi-stakeholder initiative aimed at exploring the climate finance supply chain within the context of the multilateral climate change regime, international financial architecture and the multi-layered landscape of international economic law. She has published on issues relating to international economic law and development, sovereign debt and the global financial architecture, and sustainable development and climate finance.

Mr Mohammed Usrof a Palestinian researcher, climate justice advocate, and political strategist He is the Founder and Executive Director of the Palestinian Institute for Climate Strategy. His work focuses on the intersection of energy justice, environmental governance, and decolonization, particularly within the context of settler colonialism, military occupation, and systemic de-development in Palestine and the broader Middle East.

Dr Anil Yilmaz Vastardis

Senior Lecturer, Essex Law School and Co-Director, Essex ÌÇÐÄTV and Human Rights Project, University of Essex and Honorary Associate Professor, ÌÇÐÄTV Law School, UK

Anil Yilmaz Vastardis is a Senior Lecturer and Co-Director of the Essex ÌÇÐÄTV and Human Rights Project at Essex Law School. She is also Honorary Associate Professor at ÌÇÐÄTV Law School. Her research focuses on the intersection of international investment law, business and human rights, and tort law, exploring how these areas can operationalise human rights standards in global business practices. Anil is particularly interested in the role of investment law in fostering just transitions, particularly in energy and climate finance. Her current research examines the role of investment law in promoting a just and equitable green transition, with a focus on energy transition, climate finance, and ensuring equity in global climate governance.

Yin Shao Loong is the Deputy Director of Research at Khazanah Research Institute. He focuses on industrial policy, climate change, and future technologies. He spent a decade working in federal and state government, and another decade in civil society and academia.

Mr Vicente Paolo Yu

Senior Legal Advisor, Third World Network, Malaysia and Honorary Professorial Fellow, ÌÇÐÄTV Law School, University of ÌÇÐÄTV, UK

Vicente Paolo Yu is an international lawyer, policy advisor and negotiator and scholar on international economic and environmental law. works as an independent expert and consultant for various United Nations agencies and NGOs. He is also a Senior Legal Advisor with the Third World Network, Visiting Research Fellow at the United Nations Research Institute for Social Development (UNRISD), and Associate Fellow at the Geneva Centre for Security Policy. Previously, he served as the Deputy Executive Director of the South Centre and coordinated the Centre’s work on global governance, climate change, investment, South-South cooperation, and sustainable development issues.

Ms Jodi-Ann Wang

St Hughs College, University of Oxford

Jodi-Ann is a DPhil candidate in International Development at the University of Oxford. Her DPhil project investigates the rise and fixation of financialised capital as a promised solution to the global climate crisis, how this came to be, and what this means for climate justice. She was a climate policy specialist at the United Nations Principles of Responsible Investment, advising governments on net zero-aligned financial regulations. She was recently a Policy Fellow at the Just Transition Finance Lab at the LSE Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and Environment.
