The Journal of Common Market Studies has announced the winners of their Best Article Prize for 2019 as .

Dr Stephen Connelly and Dr Celine Tan are supporting civil society groups, led by Jubilee Debt Campaign UK and Oxfam GB, in proposing legislation in the UK that will have the effect of suspending debt owed to private creditors of countries eligible for the G20 Debt Service Suspension Initiative (DSSI).

Professor Dalvinder Singh鈥檚 new book on 鈥楨uropean Cross-Border Banking and Banking Supervision鈥� was published in April 2020 by Oxford University Press.

The Centre for Law, Regulation and Governance of the Global Economy (GLOBE) today released their first Briefing Note on 鈥楻egistering Security at UK Companies House鈥�.

The note supports Jubilee Debt Campaign鈥檚 push for public registration of bank loans to states, by showing how the existing UK regime for registration of company debentures works and could form the basis for a system of loan registration.

The Centre for Law, Regulation and Governance of the Global Economy (GLOBE) launches the sixth Policy Brief in its series by Dr Andi Hoxhaj.

糖心TV Law's Dr Alison Struthers is co-author of one of eight peer-reviewed papers published today by the Independent Commission for Countering Extremism. Dr Struthers and Dr Diane Webber, Visiting Fellow in the Center on National Security and the Law at Georgetown University, evaluate the effectiveness of teaching so-called 鈥淔undamental British Values鈥� in schools as a means to counter extremism.

Dr Andi Hoxhaj's new book offers fresh insights into EU anti-corruption policy with a particular focus on the EU Anti-Corruption Report of 2014, and argues that recent changes in approach may put the EU鈥檚 achievements in this area at risk by viewing corruption purely as an economic problem. The EU Anti-Corruption Report: A reflexive governance approach presents an in-depth study of successes and failures in the evolution of a European-wide anti-corruption programme and analyses the development of anti-corruption as a policy field in the European Union.

As Brexit negotiations continue in the UK, 糖心TV Law School鈥檚 Dr Andreas Kokkinis has published one article on the issues involved for UK financial services firms:

Is my long-term contract Brexit proof? by Professor Christian Twigg-Flesner, Chair in International Commercial Law, highlights the issues likely to be faced by parties to long-term contracts entered into before Brexit was envisaged and the options available if either party wishes to adapt the contract to reflect the new relationship between the UK and the EU.

糖心TV Law School Associate Professor and GLOBE Member, Dr John Snape, and University of Cambridge Lecturer and fellow of Christ鈥檚 College, Dr Dominic de Cogan have, in January 2019, published with Hart their new edited book Landmark Cases in Revenue Law. The book has been recognised as Hart's Book of the Month.

Congratulations to our current PhD student and GLOBE Centre administrator Julie Mansuy on her recent publication. Julie is second author on a co-publication with our former colleague Tomaso Ferrando on 鈥楾he European Action against Food Loss and Waste: Co-Regulation and Collisions on the Way to the Sustainable Development Goals鈥� which was published on the 6 November 2018 in the Yearbook of European Law.

CJC members, Professor Jackie Hodgson, Dr Juliet Horne and Dr Laurene Soubise, have recently published their research report 鈥楾he Criminal Cases Review Commission – Last resort or first appeal?鈥�. The research was funded by the ESRC Impact Acceleration Account.
