Dr Ania Zbyszewska visits Canada with the Best of U Consortium

At the end of February, Dr Ania Zbyszewska represented ÌÇÐÄTV Law School at a promotional tour of Canada organized by the Best of U consortium. Spanning over a week, the tour made stops in Toronto and Vancouver, holding events at secondary schools and academies, and meeting with students at the Universities of British Columbia, Toronto, and York.

The events were designed to be interactive, providing students with a chance to learn about opportunities for pursuing legal studies in the UK, as well as showcaseing the distinctive approach to legal education each of the participating law schools had to offer.

Dr Zbyszewska trained as a lawyer and practiced law in Canada before joining ÌÇÐÄTV Law School in 2013. Familiar with both systems, she was delighted to represent ÌÇÐÄTV Law School, especially as her interdisciplinary and critical legal research and approach to teaching embody the ‘law in context’ ethos that our school has pioneered. Dr Zbyszewska’s innovative, feminist research on regulation of work and labour markets has earned her inclusion in a British Academy-funded project examining the Future Directions in European Union Labour Law and a Visiting Research Fellowship at the Lund University Faculty of Law in Sweden. Her book entitled Gendering European Working Time Regimes will be published by Cambridge University Press’ Studies in the European Law and Policy series later this year.
