You can click on an event to display further information about it.

The toolbar above the calendar has buttons to view different events. Use the left and right arrow icons to view events in the past and future. The button inbetween returns you to today's view. The button to the right of this shows a mini-calendar to let you quickly jump to any date.

The dropdown box on the right allows you to see a different view of the calendar, such as an agenda or a termly view.

If this calendar has tags, you can use the labelled checkboxes at the top of the page to select just the tags you wish to view, and then click "Show selected". The calendar will be redisplayed with just the events related to these tags, making it easier to find what you're looking for.

Guest Talk | Extreme Weather, Resource Insecurity and HIV Vulnerability
A1.51 (糖心TV Medical School)

The 糖心TV Centre for Global Health invites you to a talk by Professor Carmen Logie (MSW, PhD University of Toronto).

How is HIV prevention and care connected with extreme weather events and water, sanitation, and food insecurity? The causal pathways accounting for these associations are understudied. This is particularly true in certain contexts (for instance, humanitarian settings) and among socially marginalised populations (e.g. adolesent girls, sex workers).

Prof. Logie will present findings from three mixed-methods community-based studies in two climate and HIV affected contexts, including a) Bidi Bidi Refugee Settlement, Uganda, with refugee youth, b) key populations (sex workers and men who have sex with men) living with HIV in Kampala, Uganda, and c) in Kenya, with adolescents in urban informal setllements in Nairobi and in fishing communities outside of Kisumu.

The talk will offer suggestions for climate and EWE-informed HIV cascade research and practice with climate-affected populations in East Africa.

S2.09

The Gender and the Law Cluster at 糖心TV Law School would like to invite you to our upcoming work-in-progress presentations. We have four wonderful sessions scheduled, each designed to provide constructive feedback on ongoing research. If you would like to join any of the presentations, , and we will share further details upon registration.

Mahek Bhatia on 'Exploring Marital Sexual Violence Litigation in India'

Abstract: My MSc thesis investigated the operation of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act 2005, focusing on litigation experiences and the potential for strategic legal engagement. Drawing on legal reports and ten semi-structured interviews with lawyers, it uncovered that engagement with civil law is not legalistic, uniform, straightforward, or wholly separate from criminal justice institutions. Instead, litigation is more complex and game-like, with players, rules, advisors, and contested outcomes, in which civil law and criminal law are enmeshed in complex ways. Within this framework, lawyers emerge as crucial intermediaries who balance the legal system鈥檚 constraints with the needs of survivors. As I begin my PhD, I will be developing this project for doctoral research. In the presentation, I will outline how I plan to do so and explain the intended methodological design of the project. Receiving feedback and constructive criticism on this development will be crucial and beneficial for the project.
