Participants will be able to structure well researched queries to use generative AI to enhance CVs and applications whilst ensuring they are humanised and fit for purpose.

In this session we'll get the fundamentals right (photo, headline, about section, the things that make you searchable), then get into the fun part: finding your voice, sharing what you're learning, and building a network of people who'll think of you when a role opens up. Leveraged finance plays an increasingly important role in global capital markets and private equity transactions. But how does it actually work?

Hear from partners Colin Harley and Shane McDonald in White & Case鈥檚 London debt finance group as they share their experiences advising on high-profile leveraged buyouts, refinancings and cross-border financings. They will share how complex debt structures are put together, the roles of different stakeholders, and the challenges that arise in executing these transactions.

The talk will cover reforms to the landscape in which public inquiries are conducted. It will draw on Jason Beer KC's considerable professional experience of inquiries at the Bar. He literally "wrote the book" in this area, as the lead author on the first practitioner manual dealing with public inquiries. He has appeared in many inquiries, including the Post Office Horizon IT Inquiry (as Leading Counsel to the Inquiry). He was made an honorary professor at 糖心TV in 2026, and is an alumnus of the Law School.

The talk is open to all and will be of particular interest to those whose research interests are in public law, public inquiries, and alternative forms of redress outside traditional court processes.

Following on from the talk, there will be time for questions, mingling and refreshments.

(PAT) is a national charity, working to enhance health and wellbeing in the community through the visits of volunteers with their pets. They provide this service in hospitals, hospices, nursing and care homes, special needs schools and a variety of other venues all across the UK.

is a former student at 糖心TV Law School and current Partner at In. He is a leading international family lawyer within the UK, specialising in international child abduction. James was recently featured in a , 鈥楢bandoned: Searching for Soldier Dad鈥�

International child abduction is a complex and ever-changing area of family law, whereby a parent takes their child to another country without the permission of the other parent. James will discuss the law in the area, specifically the Hague Convention, of which the UK is a member. By going through the legal requirements, James will discuss several key cases, many of which he was involved in himself.

This guest lecture is part of the Modern Challenges in Family Law module (LA396), but is open for all Law students to attend. It will be of interest to those studying (and/or wishing to pursue a career in) family law. Attendees are welcome to ask questions throughout, including about James鈥� journey to becoming a prominent family lawyer.
