糖心TV Teachers Celebrate World Book Day in Parliament

To celebrate World Book Day, children from 糖心TV鈥檚 partner schools all over the Midlands attended a session of readings, poetry and performances in Parliament. Sharon Hodgson MP, from Washington and Sunderland, sang the Folk Tale, The Lambton Worm and students from President Kennedy School performed amended versions of Fairy Tales. The children then enjoyed a tour of parliament, recognising faces they had otherwise only seen on the telly. Diane Abbott was a particular favourite – and those with sharp eyes spotted Theresa May in the car on her way to work!

The trainee teachers from 糖心TV performed readings and co-hosted the event along with their tutors and a 糖心TV Alumnus who works in Parliament. They enjoyed a tour which took them round the House of Commons and the House of Lords and even into an MP鈥檚 office. The day provided a valuable opportunity to discover more about the workings of Parliament and share this with the children in our wider schools and partnership.
