How do I use this calendar?

You can click on an event to display further information about it.

The toolbar above the calendar has buttons to view different events. Use the left and right arrow icons to view events in the past and future. The button inbetween returns you to today's view. The button to the right of this shows a mini-calendar to let you quickly jump to any date.

The dropdown box on the right allows you to see a different view of the calendar, such as an agenda or a termly view.

If this calendar has tags, you can use the labelled checkboxes at the top of the page to select just the tags you wish to view, and then click "Show selected". The calendar will be redisplayed with just the events related to these tags, making it easier to find what you're looking for.

Monday 6th March, 6:30-8:30pm | OC1.06 Oculus Building, 糖心TV Uni

Are you a student or researcher looking to connect with organisations outside of the university? Join us for a workshop on March 6th.

How can academic social research engage effectively with the community?

What can social research in the university do for community organisations? How can researchers and organisations work together in productive and empowering ways?

This workshop will bring together researchers, students and community organisations, to explore the politics and practice of collaboration with and beyond the university.

Speakers

Mike Kasibo,

Emma Perry,

Daksha Piparia, Coventry

*More speakers will soon be announced*

What to expect

A series of short presentations from speakers will be followed by group work and discussions. Group discussions will be structured around the following topics:

  • Opening the Conversation: How can communities and organisations join the conversation on policy and research that affects them?

  • Research Design: How can community organisations and leaders be partners in the design process?

  • Research Findings: How can the findings of academic research be made relevant, accessible and meaningful?

  • Research and Ownership: How can researchers encourage a sense of ownership and belonging for participants? How can researchers negotiate fair research relationships with organisations and individuals?

The outcomes of group work will be used to put together a resourse for students and researchers aiming to undertake engaged research in partnership with community organisers.

The event will close with refreshments.
