DEAR Centre’s Diary Method Community Delivers Training Session for MSc Development Studies @IDEAS at O. P. Jindal Global University, India

On 23 February 2026, Prof Emily Henderson (Director, DEAR Centre) co-delivered a workshop on diary method at O. P. Jindal Global University (JGU), India as part of her ongoing collaboration with IDEAS – the Office for Interdisciplinary Studies at JGU. The session was entitled ‘Using Diary Method in Social Sciences Research’. The workshop was delivered as one of the ongoing workshops offered by the , which is an international community of practice dedicated to enhancing expertise in the method.

Diary Method Community is located under the DEAR Centre umbrella and is . The 23 February workshop was co-delivered by Emily Henderson along with two members of Diary Method Community, (Law School, JGU) and (Economics, Gauhati University).

The workshop participants were students registered on the MSc Development Studies and faculty members from IDEAS. The workshop included an introduction to diary method and examples of previous diary method studies, as well as interactive segments where workshop participants were invited to design a relevant diary method study on the implementation of a solar panel scheme in rural India. The workshop produced lively discussions and the opportunity to interact was appreciated by all.
