Call for Papers (for PG Conference, Wednesday 23rd June 2010)
Postgraduate Conference (Wednesday 23rd June 2010)
to proceed to abstract submission. Closing date for submission is Monday 10th May 2010.
We invite postgraduate students to submit an abstract for either a paper (oral) or a poster presentation around one of the following themes:
- English Language Teacher Education and Development (ELTED)
- Language Learning and Pedagogy (LL&P)
- Professional and Academic Discourse (PAD)
- Working and Communicating Across Cultures (WACC)
Abstracts are for either paper (oral) or poster presentations. The deadline for receipt of abstract is Monday 10th May 2010. We ask you to submit your abstract as a Microsoft Word document using the the online abstract submission page here:
Your abstract must include the following information:
- The title
- Name of the author(s)
The abstract should be no more than 250 words in length (excluding the above information).
Abstracts will be selected and approved by the conference committee. Accepted papers and posters will be notified by Monday 17th May 2010-.
Single papers will be allocated up to 30 minutes for presentation (including upto 20 minutes presentation, and 10 minutes discussion), and posters will be on display all day.
Pre-Conference Workshops (Tuesday 22nd June 2010)
A range of pre-conference workshops are offered to participants on the day before the conference, Tuesday 22nd June 2010. The workshops will be upto 1.5 hours long and are run by members of the Centre for Applied Linguistics. Places in the workshops are assigned on a first come first serve basis, and sign-up will be possible via the website from Monday 24th May 2010.
