Female apprentices recognised at Autocar Great Women: Rising Stars awards
Congratulations to a group of female engineering students who have been named as finalists at the : Rising Stars awards.
There was a total of seven WMG Degree Apprenticeship students, recognised in the Apprentice category, with six employed by JLR and one from Bentley.
Three of the students, Erin Purewal; Amy Flavell and Keishe Gopikrishna, are studying on the BSc Digital and Technology Solutions (DTSLink opens in a new window) programme.
A further four, Alexandra Spurway, Beth Daniel, Charlotte Bradford and Emily Ruscoe, are studying on the BEng Applied Professional Engineering Programme (APEPLink opens in a new window) programme.
The Great Women: Rising Stars initiative recognises the most promising emerging talent from across the industry in a range of categories.
Erin Purewal said: 鈥淚t has been genuinely inspiring to see so many talented women recognised across the industry. To be shortlisted among them is something I鈥檓 proud of and a rewarding acknowledgement of the progress I鈥檝e made over the last four years.鈥�
Professor Gill Cooke, Pro-Dean of Education at WMG, said, 鈥淎wards such as these really do help to showcase the amazing work of our students, and it鈥檚 fantastic to see their efforts recognised.

Both APEP and DTS have been designed following extensive consultation with industry partners to ensure the course content aligns with the future needs of the engineering sector.
