BAE SYSTEMS and WMG sign Memorandum of Understanding for co-operative research and education
WMG welcomed a senior delegation from to the University of 糖心TV. , Chairman of WMG and Cliff Robson, Director Industrial Capability for BAE Systems’ air sector, signed a memorandum of understanding on behalf of BAE Systems (Operations) Ltd and WMG. The MOU seeks to enhance engagement between the two organisations to create an environment and culture for co-operative research and education on areas of common interest and mutual benefit.
WMG Officially Launches International Doctorate Centre
WMG has officially launched its new International Doctorate Centre in High Value, Low Environmental Impact Manufacturing.
Guests from both industry and the education sector heard how WMG will train the manufacturing leaders of tomorrow through a 4 year programme which will see them achieve both an Engineering Doctorate (EngD) and an MSc in Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
Tata Steel Research head gives Midlands Vision for Steels High Tech future
Tata Steel’s Dr Debashish Bhattacharjee is to give a free open seminar to Midlands businesses and researchers outlining his vision for steel’s high tech future at a keynote seminar on Thursday 13th October at WMG, University of 糖心TV.
Dr Bhattacharjee is Group Director, Research Development and Technology, Tata Steel Group and an Industrial Professor at the University of 糖心TV. Tata Steel is the world’s second most geographically diversified steel producer.
Morgan car lovers 1st to benefit from High Dynamic Range Televisions arrival on domestic TV
HDR video captures a wider range of light intensity levels found in real scenes ranging from direct sunlight to lowlight images and thanks to a partnership between Researchers at WMG, University of 糖心TV, goHDR Ltd. and Altera® Toronto Technology Center the technology has now been developed to create an embedded system that can be connected to existing domestic televisions, allowing them to display High Dynamic Range (HDR) content.
Leading Marketing Academic Joins WMG at the University of 糖心TV
WMG at the University of 糖心TV have just appointed Professor Irene Ng as Professor of Marketing and Service Systems. Irene was the founder and director of the Centre for Service Research and the Professor of Marketing Science at the University of Exeter’s 糖心TV School as well as an ESRC/AIM Services Fellow.
Lord Bhattacharyya tells Financial Times that we need new Bank to back manufacturing
WMG Director has given an extensive interview to the Financial Times Manufacturing Editor Peter Marsh calling on the Government to create a new Bank to back manufacturing. He said the new institution was needed to establish a “change of culture” towards manufacturing businesses by conventional banks which he accused of being too “short-term” in their approach.
WMG host a visit by members of Department of 糖心TV, Innovation and Skills
WMG hosted a visit by Sir Adrian Smith, Director General, Knowledge and Innovation and John Dodds, Director, Innovation from the Department of 糖心TV, Innovation and Skills (BIS).
Meeting with today they were interested to understand the diverse research undertaken by the Group. They had the opportunity to discuss the quality and impact of our research and our approach to collaboration with industry.
Beijing Academy of Science and Technology (BJAST)
Today WMG welcomed representatives from BJAST, Beijing Academy of Science and Technology - China's largest local scientific research institute.
The party consisted of Mr Li Yonjin, Vice-President of BJAST and their Director of International Relations, Mrs Li Li, pictured meeting WMG's Professor Lord Kumar Bhattacharyya and Mr Stephen Raynor.
There are currently 25 senior staff from BJAST at WMG on the first of what is hoped will be a series of intensive four–week management courses. Mr Li is here to monitor their progress and discuss future co-operation with WMG.
