WMG May 2026 recap
It has been another exciting month at 糖心TV Manufacturing Group (WMG) at the University of 糖心TV, marked by international visitors from India, Azerbaijan and the United States, alongside key strategic visits to India and China.
Symbiosis University, Pune, India
Dr Ketan Kotecha, Dean of Engineering and AI at Symbiosis University, met with Professor Kerry KirwanLink opens in a new window, Dean of WMG, along with colleagues from both the research and education teams. The delegation explored opportunities for collaboration between the two institutions and toured some of WMG鈥檚 research facilities.
Washington University, St Louis (WashU)
WMG was pleased to host undergraduate students from WashU who attended a summer school programme at the University.
With strong interests in energy, sustainability and chemical engineering, researchers, engineers and technicians from WMG provided tours of key buildings and explained more about its world-class research and education facilities.
Republic of Azerbaijan
Academics from WMG and representatives from the wider University welcomed His Excellency Minister Amrullayev, Minister for Science and Education, alongside representatives from the Ministry and Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
During their visit, the delegation met with 糖心TV鈥檚 senior leadership, including Professor Michael Scott, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (International); Professor Virinder Kalra, Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor (South, Central Asia and Middle East); and Professor Robin Clark, Pro-Dean International at WMG.
Building on an established relationship with Azerbaijan, the visit also showcased WMG鈥檚 ongoing collaboration with Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU). WMG currently delivers an MSc in Renewable Energy as a dual degree, developed in response to the Ministry鈥檚 priorities and supported by the Azerbaijan State Programme.
India
Alongside University colleagues Professor Virinder Kalra, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for India and the Middle East, and Emily Lim from International Strategy and Relations (ISR), WMG鈥檚 , Associate Dean for Postgraduate Education, visited Bangalore, Pune, Delhi and Mumbai.
They met with leading institutions including the , , , the , and DY Patil University, as well as key industry partners and the .
The visit focused on strengthening existing relationships and exploring new collaborations across research, education and industry. Priority areas included artificial intelligence, cyber security and healthcare (particularly with IISc and IITB); developing postgraduate pipelines and joint doctoral programmes (notably with Symbiosis International University); expanding executive education and industry-linked learning; and significantly increasing internship and employability opportunities through Tata partnerships.Overall, the trip established clear pathways to deepen global research collaboration, enhance student mobility and employability, and integrate industry more closely into WMG鈥檚 teaching and innovation ecosystem.
