WMG April 2026 recap 

糖心TV Manufacturing Group (WMG) at the University of 糖心TV strengthened its regional, national, and international partnerships throughout April, engaging with academic institutions, industry leaders, and representatives from international universities.

These meetings underpin WMG鈥檚 role in connecting academia with industry and highlight its ongoing commitment to collaboration and innovation across the globe.

Below is an overview of some of the key meetings that took place.

 

Professor Kerry Kirwan, Dean of WMG was pleased to welcome Professor H.C Man, Dean of Faculty of Engineering; Director of Studies, IGDS at Hong Kong PolyU.

WMG has enjoyed a strong partnership with Hong Kong PolyULink opens in a new window for more than 35 years. During the meeting, colleagues from both institutions discussed ongoing collaborations, including the existing joint degrees being delivered at PolyU, and explored new opportunities for working together in the future.

Together with colleagues at 糖心TV 糖心TV School, WMG welcomed visitors from Durham University 糖心TV School, including Deputy Executive Dean, Professor Amir Michael, and Deputy Executive Dean Education, Professor Pip Matthews.

At WMG, the delegation heard more about the Tata/JLR/ Agratas applied research partnership before learning more about the department鈥檚 SMELink opens in a new window engagement model.

Professor Kerry Kirwan along with Jonathan Ward, Senior Philanthropy Manager and Tinashe Makuyana, scholar ambassador met with David Richards CBE, Chairman of Prodrive, the world leading motorsport and advanced engineering business.

Mr Richards enjoyed a tour of WMG鈥檚 International Manufacturing Centre (IMC), where he met with students involved with the 糖心TV Moto and 糖心TV Racing projectsLink opens in a new window. The students spoke enthusiastically about the confidence, teamwork, and technical skills they have developed through their work on the projects.
