Professor Elena Simperl

Elena Simperl is a Professor of Computer at King鈥檚 College London and the Director of Research for the Open Data Institute (ODI). She is a鈥疐ellow of the British Computer Society鈥痑nd the Royal Society of Arts, and a Hans Fischer Senior Fellow. Elena鈥檚 work is at the intersection between AI and social computing. She features in鈥痶he top 100 most influential scholars in knowledge engineering of the last decade and in the Women in AI 2000 ranking. She is the president of the Semantic Web Sciences Association.

Dr. Jonathan Petit

Dr. Jonathan Petit is Director of Engineering at Qualcomm, where he leads the Artificial Intelligence Security Research & Standard team. He is widely recognized as a pioneer in automotive and AI cybersecurity, with early, influential work exposing vulnerabilities in automated driving systems and AI鈥慴ased perception.

At Qualcomm, Dr. Petit鈥檚 research spans across adversarial machine learning, robustness of perception systems, and security of on鈥慸evice AI. He also plays a central role in shaping global AI security practices through active leadership and coordination in international standardization bodies, including CEN/CENELEC, ISO, SAE, ETSI, NIST, and the FCC.

Prior to joining Qualcomm in 2019, he was Senior Director at OnBoard Security, where he worked closely with government agencies, industry partners, standardization organizations, and academic institutions to secure automotive systems. From 2011 to 2014, Dr. Petit served as technical coordinator of the EU鈥慺unded PRESERVE project, which developed Hardware Security Modules for Vehicle鈥憈o鈥慐verything (V2X) communications.

Dr. Petit holds a PhD in Computer Science from Paul Sabatier University (Toulouse III), France.
