As a midwife by background, Professor Kenyon's career pathway was not laid out. While there is now a clearer pathway for midwives to pursue an academic career supported by the National Institute for Health Research, that has not always been the case.
Professor Kenyon's inaugural lecture will focus on her pathway and personal experiences as well as current opportunities for nurses and midwives to progress into academia.
