Events in MathSys and Complexity Science
This is a calendar page detailing events within the MathSys CDT. It also acts as a booking diary for the Seminar Room D1.07. To book D1.07 please email Sheetal.Sharma@warwick.ac.uk
Please note that your event booking is for D1.07 only. The adjacent common room is a private area for the MathSys Centre that cannot used as part of your booking.
MathSys CDT events have priority for D1.07 room bookings.

Title: Dynamics of complex systems: 1/f fluctuations, Self-organised Criticality and Absorbing Phase Transitions in a Deterministic Lattice Gas
Abstract:We show that some new results on the power spectrum of the density fluctuations of the Deterministic Lattice Gas can be reduced to the critical properties of the gas at the absorbing phase transition at low densities. We also show that the Deterministic Lattice Gas is in the Manna universality class of absorbing phase transitions, despite the deterministic nature of its dynamics. We discuss how the exponent beta of the power spectrum S(f)\proto 1/f^\beta depends on system size and discuss its relation to effective Langevin equations.
