Events in MathSys and Complexity Science
This is a calendar page detailing events within the MathSys CDT. It also acts as a booking diary for the Seminar Room D1.07. To book D1.07 please email Sheetal.Sharma@warwick.ac.uk
Please note that your event booking is for D1.07 only. The adjacent common room is a private area for the MathSys Centre that cannot used as part of your booking.
MathSys CDT events have priority for D1.07 room bookings.

Title: Cluster-cluster aggregation with evaporation and deposition
Abstract:
We study the statistics of the diffusion-aggregation particle system driven by deposition and evaporation in all dimensions. Using a combination of theoretical and numerical methods we establish a better understanding of the non-equilibrium phase transition in the model, including rigorous bounds on the position of the transition point. We also show that for sufficiently high deposition rates the system reaches the phase belonging to the universality class of aggregation models with deposition but no evaporation. In particular, it is characterized by constant flux of mass in mass space and the associated constant flux relation, and the non-linear scaling of high-order correlation functions. If the deposition rate is below some critical value, the system reaches the state characterized by a global balance between evaporation and deposition and detailed balance between mass fluxes due to aggregation and evaporation. We also develop the scaling theory of the model in the critical phase, which yields non-trivial scaling laws for the two-point correlation function of mass distribution.
