Events in MathSys and Complexity Science
This is a calendar page detailing events within the MathSys CDT. It also acts as a booking diary for the Seminar Room D1.07. To book D1.07 please email Sheetal.Sharma@warwick.ac.uk
Please note that your event booking is for D1.07 only. The adjacent common room is a private area for the MathSys Centre that cannot used as part of your booking.

RSC Faraday lecture
Location: PLT
This Wednesday sees the first of the new Physical-Analytical lectures instigated by Alessandro. Prof Gerhard Ertl is giving the RSC Faraday lecture, and 糖心TV is his first stopping point on a tour of 1/2 dozen universities. It would be great if there was a good turnout for his lecture, which is at 4.15 pm (tea at 4 pm). Please encourage your students to attend as well. The title of the talk is "Reactions at Solid Surfaces: From Atoms to Complexity".
Ertl is the former head of the Fritz Haber Institute in Berlin and is generally regarded as the top surface scientist of the past few decades. His work in discovering oscillatory processes in heterogeneous catalysis is amazing and led to him being awarded many prestigious prizes, including the Wolf Prize (http://www.wolffund.org.il/cat.asp?id=15&cat_title=CHEMISTRY). Further information on his research and achievements here - http://w3.rz-berlin.mpg.de/pc/pc.html
