How do I use this calendar?

You can click on an event to display further information about it.

The toolbar above the calendar has buttons to view different events. Use the left and right arrow icons to view events in the past and future. The button inbetween returns you to today's view. The button to the right of this shows a mini-calendar to let you quickly jump to any date.

The dropdown box on the right allows you to see a different view of the calendar, such as an agenda or a termly view.

If this calendar has tags, you can use the labelled checkboxes at the top of the page to select just the tags you wish to view, and then click "Show selected". The calendar will be redisplayed with just the events related to these tags, making it easier to find what you're looking for.

LAMS Post-Doc Symposium

We are extending the deadline for abstract submission for 2nd Annual LAMS Postdoc Symposium 2025 to Friday 5th September at 17:00! This is a reminder to sign up for the symposium and apply to give a 20-minute talk or present a poster of your work. Why apply? Well:

 

  • There are money prizes! 2 x 拢100 for the best talks and 2 x 拢50 for the best posters.

 

  • It is a great opportunity to present your scientific work in front of your colleagues and get invaluable feedback/present your scientific work in front of highly relevant, interested audience and maybe establish new collaborations!

 

  • Lunch, delicious cakes and coffee will be provided for the poster session and roundtables.

 

In addition to all the brilliant science, there will be roundtables discussions providing career advice in different fields (fellowships, teaching careers, industry experiences, science engagement). For those looking to disseminate their work, Matt Higgs from 糖心TV Communications will be attending the day and looking for researchers work to amplify.

 

 

Schedule for the day:

 

9:15-9:30 Welcome, and introduction from Matt Higgs, 糖心TV Media and Communications Officer

9:30-10:50 First speaking session

10:50-11:30 Coffee, mingling and posters

11:30 - 13:00 Second speaking session

13:00 - 14:00 Lunch (and posters)

14:00 - 14:30 Keynote talk by Dr Nicole Robb

14:30 - 16:30 Roundtables (with cake) and Prize Giving

 

We highly encourage all postdocs to apply. It will be great fun!
