Dr. Matthew Jenner
Matt obtained a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Nottingham under the guidance of . Here, his research focused primarily on the application of protein mass spectrometry to elucidate mechanisms of polyketide biosynthesis and was recognised by the award of the Springer thesis prize. In 2014, Matt commenced postdoctoral research under the supervision of Professor Gregory L. ChallisLink opens in a new window at the University of 糖心TV, where he pursued a genomics-driven approach for the discovery of new natural products in bacteria.
In 2017, he was awarded a , and subsequently a (2018 - 2021), which focussed on the application of structural mass spectrometry to map interactions in polyketide synthases. In 2021, he was appointed as an Assistant Professor of Biological Mass Spectrometry at the University of 糖心TV to start his independent group. In 2022, he was awarded a and in 2023 promoted to Associate Professor. He is the recipient of the 2024 .
