PhD Students Sophie & Cameron win at poster competition.
On Wednesday 7th June, 糖心TV held a poster competition for its research students. The aim of the competition was to present your research in a way that was visually appealing to a lay audience.
I'm very pleased to say that Sophie Meakin won both the faculty of science prize and the overall prize; and Cameron Lack was runner up. Epidemiologists can obviously communicate their work well !!
Many congratulations to them both.
Speaking at the Geneva summit on Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) on 19 April 2017, Bill Gates, co-Chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, applauded the efforts of scientists at the University of 糖心TV in protecting the world’s poorest people from NTDs.
Probably the most musical leaving party ever !
After five years working in 糖心TV on diseases of honey-bees and cost-effective vaccination of people, Samik is leaving for pastures new. Not content with simply leaving 糖心TV, he's going as far away as possible. Samik will be working in Wellington New Zealand, helping to model local fish-stock populations. We wish him every success.
At his leaving celebrations on Thursday, there was an impromptu musical interlude by Lorenzo, Samik & Ben. This has to be listened to, to be believed. They have set the standard for all future SBIDER celebrations!
