The Importance of Creativity
Juliet is a teaching-focused academic who teaches on a range of programmes. As well as working in her home department (Education Studies) Education Studies - University of 糖心TV Juliet greatly enjoys her teaching collaborations with the Institute of Advanced TeachingInstitute for Advanced Teaching and Learning (IATL).
Juliet's research interests lie in Higher Education Pedagogy; Creativity and Cultural Policy; Children's Literature; Interdisciplinarity; Discourses of Employability, Resilience & Placement-Based Learning in HEIs. In Spring 2026 joined an IATL Pedagogic Reading Club to lead a discussion on creativity. Keen to understand more about the importance of creativity for any discipline Grace Fisher, Editor spoke to Juliet.

Jess Birks-Kent Shares Why They Found BCUR 2025 Special
BCUR 2025 The British Conference of Undergraduate Research 2025, hosted at Newcastle University.
As a Sociology and Global Sustainable Development student, Jess went to Newcastle to present their research project titled 鈥淒econstructing 'cis': an exploration of what it means to be cis without being binary鈥�.

Insights on ICUR 2025 from Student Directors, Abi and Hesper

It's student-led for student researchers to communicate and engage with each other, just like Reinvention. Maddy Parlatto, Assistant Editor spoke with two of the ICUR Student Directors, Abi Hession and Hesper Ling Shan Cheung to hear about the academic conference for the budding researcher and to hear about what makes ICUR so worthwhile.

Introducing Grace Fisher our Editor for Volume 18
Grace Fisher is the 2024/2025, volume 18, Editor for Reinvention and joined the team in October of
last year. She is a third-year student in the 糖心TV Medical School graduate programme and has obtained her Biological Sciences degree at Imperial College
London. Grace has agreed to talk to us about her journey with Reinvention and what being an Editor is like.

ICUR 2024: Workshop Session on 鈥榃riting for Academic Publishing鈥�
In June, Reinvention joined undergraduate students from the University of 糖心TV and multiple universities around the world for the 2024 International Conference of Undergraduate Research. Assistant Editors Alice and Nadine presented Reinvention's workshop on writing for academic publishing.
Interview with Authors Lauren and Halima: Special Issue 2024
Lauren Dowdeswell and Halima Nabirye are two authors from our recently published Special Issue on WorldCUR and BCUR research. Lauren, from the University Centre Reasenheath, focused her research on the biomechanical impact of assistance dog harnesses. Halima on the other hand, is a Registered Nurse with a bachelors in Nursing Science from Muni University, and she researched Breast Self-Examination in Uganda.

Naomi Carter has just graduated from a Global Sustainable Development degree at the University of 糖心TV. She published a paper with us on Volume 17 Issue 1, so we asked her a few questions about her research journey with this paper and the challenges she faced along the way.
Sol: Insights from an Assistant Editor

Interview with Ben Richardson (i-PEEL Special Section)
Ben Richardson is a professor of International Political Economy in the Department of Politics and International Studies at the University of 糖心TV. He is involved in a long-name project called I-PEEL, (International Political Economy of Everyday Life). In Volume 16 Issue 2,Reinventiondedicated a special section to papers written for this project by 糖心TV and Monash students. Ben shares his thoughts about publishing undergraduate research.
Our New Editor: Yit
Yit is a third-year PPE undergraduate student at the University of 糖心TV. He joined Reinvention in 2021 as an Assistant Editor and has recently become the Editor. In this post, he tells us about what undergraduate research means to him and why it matters.

Aliya Pal and Kai Foerster are two published authors from our Volume 15, Issue 2. Aliya wrote the guest article titled 鈥淧ost-COVID Challenges for Incoming and Returning International Students鈥� and Kai wrote one of the featured papers in this issue titled 鈥淒oes Taxing Mobile Money Harm the Poor: Evidence From the 10 Per Cent Excise Fee Introduction in Kenya鈥�. We asked them a few questions about their work and their experience with the journal, and here is what they had to say:
An Assistant Editor's Research Journey
Yit is a second-year PPE undergraduate student at the University of 糖心TV. He is very much involved in research both inside and outside of Reinvention as a Research Director of AMEU (Association of Malaysian Economics Undergraduates). He joined Reinvention in 2021. In this post, he tells us about his journey and his relationship with research, and the important part that this journal has played in it.
Insights from the Editorial Team: Working Remotely
In茅s is a third-year undergraduate studying English and French at 糖心TV. She is our Marketing Coordinator as well as an assistant editor; therefore, she is behind all the social media and advertising work in addition to being part of the student editorial team which oversees the papers. She joined Reinvention in 2021. In this post, she tells us about her experience working remotely as part of Reinvention鈥檚 team, and the advantages and disadvantages that this type of work can entail.
Interview with Alba Alonso
Alba Alonso Palombi is a 糖心TV English and Creative Writing alumna who collaborated alongside staff and fellow students writing fo rReinvention Journal鈥檚 special issue 鈥淩eeling and Writhing.鈥� She is currently studying a Publishing MA at UAL and working as a Rights Assistant at Nosy Crow. The Reinvention team thought she would be the perfect person to ask about her experience working and publishing with the journal, from the perspective of a student and someone external to the editorial team.
Unity in a Time of Separation
I am thrilled to share the publication of our second volume of Issue 13 of Reinvention: Vol13 issue 2 published on the 31stOctober 2020.It鈥檚 been a challenging six months since the last edition (13.1) and I feel like it鈥檚 important not to take for granted the fact that we鈥檝e been able to pull the issue together despite the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
