Paid Student Work Opportunity
Are you thinking of working during term-time?
Are you looking for part-time hours to suit your timetable?
IATL is looking to recruit a number of Classroom Stewards to support the use of the following teaching spaces; the CAPITAL Rehearsal Room in Millburn House, the Reinvention Centre and the Avon Drama Studio at Westwood, the Humanities Studio and the eight newly refurbished teaching rooms in the Ramphal Building.
Classroom Stewards will be recruited to work in weeks 1-10 of the autumn term, 1-10 of the spring term and weeks 1-4 of the summer term.
We are looking for two Classroom Stewards to work from 8:00-10:00am, Monday-Friday in each week during term time.
We are also looking for an additional six Classroom Stewards to work as required (and as available) during teaching hours (9:00-19:00, Monday-Friday), throughout term time.
All Classroom Stewards will be paid at the rate of £7.85 per hour.

New issue of Reinvention: an International Journal of Undergraduate Research
The British Conference of Undergraduate Research (BCUR) 2013 Special Issue was published on 5 August, featuring a selection of 13 conference papers from BCUR 2013 and from the inaugural Monash-糖心TV (ICUR). This issue was the first under the journal's new Managing Editor, Emma Barker, and we also have four new : John Watkins, Md. Roysul Islam, Jennifer Entwisle and Tim Ziegler. Welcome to all!
IATL's own Jonathan Heron invites applications for the first IGGY Heron Scholarship in Science & Arts, which will provide an award of free annual membership to IGGY. The scholarship is open to 13-18 year olds who are not currently a member of IGGY.
Applicants will need to identify an aspect of physics or biology that they feel could be taught through the performing arts. The closing date is Friday 30 August 2013.

Paid Student Research Opportunity
Are you looking for part-time work during the summer term?
IATL is looking for two Student Research Assistants to analyse the results of our survey of student engagement at the University.
Each Research Assistant will be employed for 68 hours' work, between 15 July and 30 September, at the rate of £12.47 per hour, with the majority of the analysis work to be carried out in July.
You will be a second-, third- or fourth-year undergraduate with an interest in the social science of teaching and learning, competent in statistical methods, with experience of using SPSS or similar, and some experience of research.
The closing date for applications is midday on Wednesday 10 July.
Interviews will be held in the afternoon of Friday 12 July.
Successful candidates should be available to start work on Monday 15 July.

We are pleased to invite you to participate in a 24 hour HACKATHON, taking place from 12pm 23rd June to 12pm 24th June in the Computer Science Department.
There's £400 in cash prize up for grabs for the best ideas, as well as free pizza, refreshments, goodies from GOOGLE and official participation certificates.
You can participate in person at the University of 糖心TV or remotely; register and we'll be in touch to arrange participation.
The hack will focus on developing web solutions for the new OSAAT campaign model of global collective action to aid in addressing the major global issues of our time in a coordinated and efficient way. We've already come up with a few concepts for web solutions together with major national and global campaign organisations during a series of interactive workshops.
This is an amazing opportunity for a memorable experience and to apply your coding skills in a meaningful way - whatever coding languages you are familiar with, come along and show what you can do!

IATL would like to know about your experiences as a student at the University of 糖心TV and there will be a £100 Amazon voucher awarded each week the survey is open to one lucky respondent. By completing the questionnaire you will be able to let us know if the 糖心TV learning experience is truly distinctive and the results will be used to assess how well the University is achieving the teaching and learning commitments it has set out to students in its strategy document.
The survey is open from Monday 10/6/2013 to Sunday 30/6/2013 inclusive and should only take around 10 minutes to complete.
