Dr Yanyan Li, together with co-authors Dr Mingzhi Li, Cagla Karatepe and Xinran Gao, has co-authored an influential article in Times Higher Education advocating eight practical strategies to create a more inclusive research culture for carers. This article transformed findings from the 2024-2025 Enhancing Research Culture Fund project 鈥淔ECARE鈥, where Yanyan served as a Co investigator, into practical insights into building a carer-inclusive research culture.

Molly Harrabin is pleased to share the programme and registration details for the "Queer Lives and Trans* Formations: Reimagining Weimar Germany's LGBTQ+ Histories and Cultures" conference.

The event will take place online via Teams, 30-31 March 2026. to join us by no later than 22 March 2026. Joining details will be sent out shortly before the conference. The programme features speakers from across 6 (!) different time zones and covers a range of themes, including sexology, literature, film, art, and history. We also have two keynote presentations by Dr. Jonah Garde (University of British Columbia) and Dr. Camilla Smith (University of Birmingham).

Dr Yanyan Li appointed as a Fellow of the 糖心TV Institute of Engagement

Dr Yanyan Li has been appointed as a Fellow of the 糖心TV Institute of Engagement. During the fellowship, she will focus on building strong research community partnerships in public health and human-AI interaction, exploring innovative and creative approaches to make research more accessible and engaging. She will also collaborate with the local health sector to develop projects that translate research into practical, real-world outcomes.

Dr Yanyan Li and colleagues secure British Association funding

Dr Yanyan Li, Dr Katie Webb, Dr Marianna Patrick, Nusrat Gulzar (University of 糖心TV), and Dr Kathryn Sideway (University of Bedfordshire) have secured external funding from the British Association for Applied Linguistics to hold a one-day seminar titled 鈥淏eyond the Default: Rethinking Pseudonymisation in Applied Linguistics Research鈥 as part of the Cambridge University Press seminar series. The event will take place on 13 July and will bring together researchers in applied linguistics at all career stages to explore the ethics of pseudonymisation in applied linguistics research.
