CfP: ‘Women in World(-)Literature’ conference
Conference to be held on Wednesday 22nd June 2022 as a hybrid online and in-person event.
This ‘Women in World(-)Literature’ conference held at the University of 糖心TV, the home of the WReC, is inspired by and in conversation with their work alongside continuing and emergent research in the field of world literary studies. We invite you to join us in thinking about the gendered dynamics of power in the patriarchal capitalist world-system.

 African Women's Playwright Network and Theatre and Performance Studies at the University of 糖心TV are pleased to announce that the winner of the 2022 artist-in-residence fellowship will be actor/playwright/ director/activist/educator Getrude Vimbayi Munhamo-Pfumayaramba from Zimbabwe who will be with us for 8-10 weeks to develop her new work, SIZWE (NATION), which will look at ethnic hatred that has led to genocide in various nations to answer the question, ‘what now?’
Polisemie is glad to announce a call for the 2022 Polisemie essay prize, which aims to promote excellent academic research on 21st century poetry in every language and from scholars at any stage of their career. The awarded article will receive a special mention, as well as a 500 € prize.
Essays should be submitted by the 01/10/2022.

Polisemie is an open access, peer reviewed journal published by University of 糖心TV Press with the objective of disentangling the complexity of the most recent practices of poetic writing.
January is traditionally a quiet month for Exchanges when it comes to publications, which is why it makes for an excellent period to reflect on the previous year’s activities. The new year also means it is also finally possible to establish what have been the most popular articles over the past 12 months. Top 10 Articles Downloaded has been a regular feature we’ve looked at over the past three or so years. Each time it’s been possible to identify how some articles remain ever popular, even as more recently published ones, along with changes in research interest among our readership, can refocus attention on other published works. This past year for the first time, we’ve been delighted to see an upsurge in the number of articles published in 2021 appearing in this chart – displacing some of the older works to a degree. Perhaps of a more modest interest to our readers have been the second season of Exchanges Discourse podcast episodes which were published in 2021. Many of these have featured discussions with our authors and other contributors about their work, and insights into the wider scholarly communications world. A few focus more on the journal itself and its related developments. As a companion piece to the most downloaded articles chart then, we have also had a look at which of these episodes have proved the most popular with listeners – something you can find out about on the blog as well.

Looking ahead into the next few months, we hope to be able to roll out a version update to the underlying software which will in part allow us to introduce an additional, new ‘altmetric’ counter for all articles. Better metrics for authors are a feature we have long aspired to in the journal, and based on the feedback from our contributors something they are keen for us to introduce. As testing for this new version is scheduled for the next few weeks, we aren’t able to yet put a deadline on when this new feature will become available – however, readers can look forward to hearing more about it in the newsletter when it does go live! Naturally, preparation work on our various special issues and regular volumes continues behind the scenes, thanks to my team of dedicated editors and associate editors around the globe. We anticipate our next issue published will be the Spring Vol 9.2, appearing at the end of April.
Exchanges continues to welcome scholarly submissions from early career researchers, and other scholars around the globe of interest to our interdisciplinary audience.
