Runs from Wednesday, October 05 to Friday, October 07. In view of the growing frequency of extreme weather events and disasters in the past few years, emerging data sources, such as crowdsourced geographic information and real-time sensor data, are increasingly considered in approaches for improving urban resilience. This interdisciplinary workshop is dedicated to discussing approaches to tackle these challenges and will gather researchers from academic and non-academic organisations with different disciplinary backgrounds that work in the field of disaster risk reduction and urban resilience in the UK and Brazil. The workshop will include presentations from researchers from institutions involved in disaster resilience in UK and Brazil (British Geological Survey, National Disaster Monitoring and Early-Warning Centre, Geological Survey of Brazil), academics and PhD students of the partner universities (University of ÌÇÐÄTV, University of São Paulo, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro), as well as the following invited keynote speakers: |
