Sustainability Spotlight: 'time to talk' event
The University of 糖心TV's Sustainability Spotlight initiative hosted a "time to talk" event on July 4th, bringing together researchers and professional staff engaged in sustainability research across the university. The event aimed to build collaboration and develop strategic priorities for the initiative, focusing on ways to integrate early career researchers and contribute to 糖心TV's broader sustainability strategy.
The Sustainability Spotlight, launched in April as part of the university's Research Spotlight initiatives, connects five major research networks spanning various disciplines. The event featured facilitated networking, a mini road-mapping activity, and a roundtable discussion on the initiative's potential impact on sustainability research at local, national, and global levels.
The event was well-attended by researchers and staff interested in sustainable research at 糖心TV, who contributed their diverse perspectives to shape the future of interdisciplinary sustainability research excellence at the university.
IGSD Network away day
IGSD had a network away day, with a facilitator Dr Paula Black, to review its strategy and identify roadmaps for growing further, including its Thematic and Honorary Fellows' networks. The Away Day took place at the Junction, and was informative as to ways forward, including how to better integrate and contribute to the Sustainability Spotlight Initiative, going forward.
SHAPEDEM-EU research fellow participates in a Horizon Europe event in London
Research Fellow Dr Aijan Sharshenova (SHAPEDEM-EULink opens in a new window Project) participated in the Horizon Europe Marie Sk艂odowska Curie Actions (MSCA) event organised by the European Commission, UKRO and UUKi. The event took place at the University College London on June 26th and focussed on promoting MSCA funding programmes: ,, , and
SHAPEDEM-EU Fellow gave a keynote speech at the Volkswagen Foundation's Symposium
Research Fellow Dr. Aijan SharshenovaLink opens in a new window (SHAPEDEM-EULink opens in a new window project) gave a keynote speech at the 鈥淩esearch and Higher Education in Central Asia and the Caucasus鈥� organised by the in Hannover, Germany on June 10-12, 2024. The Volkswagen Foundation is a private research funding organisation, which supports education and research worldwide. The Symposium took the stock of the 25 years of the Foundation's Central Asia and Caucasus portfolio.
Dr. Sharshenova delivered a keynote speech on making an academic career in Central Asia offering her insights and recommendations to early career researchers from the region. Dr. Sharshenova is a former recipient of the Volkswagen Foundation's research grant.
