Biography

Dr Godwin Yeboah is Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Global Sustainable Development based at the University of 糖心TV with interest in interdisciplinary/transdisciplinary research across the thematic strands of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He uses mixed methods (particularly in GIS and socio-environmental research) to promote SDG-based research, policy and practice. His academic background is interdisciplinary in nature cutting across Geographic Information Science/GIS (PhD), Computer Science (MSc), Geoinformatics and Photogrammetry (MSc), Geomatic/Geodetic Engineering (BSc), and Social Science (Post-doc, PhD). He is a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society (with the Institute of British Geographers), British Council UK Panel Member on Social Sciences (2015-2020), member of the State of the Map (SoTM) 2019 Academic Track Leading Scientific Committee, and currently part of SoTM 2020 Academic Track Leading Scientific Committee. He has lectured at both the Master of Science level (Urban Resilience, Disasters and Data; Water and Environment Management; Information Technology Infrastructure and Strategy) and Bachelor of Science level (GIS and Remote Sensing; Introduction to computers). Doctor Yeboah has recently led a large household level geospatial participatory mapping of health services in Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nigeria, and Kenya to produce accurate maps of slums. Moreover, he has conducted participatory mapping and survey research in Cambodia (marine protected areas), Malawi (critical infrastructure for health systems), and UK (Sustainable urban infrastructure and population behaviour) where part of his research, which included the use of OpenStreetMap, was selected by the UK Parliamentary and Scientific Committee and presented in the House of Commons.

Prior to joining the University of 糖心TV, Godwin worked in several roles in the UK, Germany, and Ghana (West Africa). He worked as Research Fellow in two academic institutions in the UK (University of Aberdeen, De Montfort University), Software Engineer in Germany as well as Geomatic Engineer and Lecturer in Ghana.

He is interested in SDG theme driven project collaboration as well as supervising/examining PhD/MSc research. He has served as an external MSc Thesis (Spatial Engineering) examiner at the University of Twente in the Netherlands. He is currently a member of , membership secretary of the an ordinary committee member of the , and guest editor of a special issue "".
